"Photo Olympic - The International Photography Games"
Contest regulations
1. General regulations
1.1. Purpose
The purpose of the contest is comprehensive presentation of phhotos and encouraging photographers to the realization of photos in wide themes.
1.2. Regulations
The photo contest : Photo Olympic - The International Photography Games " is organized on the basis of the following regulations and it is compliant with the law.
1.3. The organizers
The organizers of the contest are:
- The Baltic Photography Association in Koszalin, Poland
- TechMat Company in Koszalin, Poland
2. The contest rules
2.1. Participants
The contest is devoted for all the people who take photos.
Not adult people can take part in the contest only after parents' agreement.
2.2. Themes
The works for the contest will be received in the following themes:
- landscape
- people
- nature
- architecture
- sport
- report
and alternatively in other themes which may be submitted during the contest, but not later than 6 months from the date of the end of the contest.
2.3. Dates
The works for the contest in all thematic categories may be submitted from 23.01.2007 to the date of expiration of receiving the works in each theme.
Dates of submitting the works in each thematic category:
- landscape - receiving works until 30.09.2007
- people - receiving works until 15.11.2007
- nature - receiving works until 31.12.2007
- architecture - receiving works until 15.02.2008
- sport - receiving works until 31.03.2008
- report - receiving works until 15.05.2008
- additional themes - receiving works until 15.05.2008
The contest results in particular thematic groups will be announced in the following dates:
- landscape - results publication until 01.01.2008
- people - results publication until 16.02.2008
- nature - results publication until 01.04.2008
- architecture - results publication until 16.05.2008
- sport - results publication until 01.07.2008
- report - results publication until 16.08.2008
- additional themes - results publication until 16.08.2008
- the publication of the final results including all thematic partial results until 01.09.2008
2.4. Submitting photos
Submitting photos to the contest takes place ONLY electronically, with the use of special form available on www.photoolympic.com in the Submit a work part.
Photo parameters:
- max. width: 1000 pix
- max. height: 1000 pix
- max. file size: 350 kB
- file format: .jpg
Photos submitted in other way will not be assesses and will not take part in the contest.
Each author may send any number of photos in each category.
Submitting each of the photos requires giving an unique Submission Password.
Submitting each of the photos requires giving an unique Submission Password. In order to obtain a Submission Password one should make payment follow special payment-form included on submitting page. Within 3 minutes one will get a e-mail with an Submission Password, which should be entered in a special section in a form. The cost of the Submission Password to submit 6 photos is 7 USD (or 5 EUR).
Submission to the contest equals with acceptation of all the regulations and confirmation of the information authenticity, which were filled in during the registration of the author and during submitting the works.
2.5. The rules of assessment and choice of the winners.
The accredited jurors make an independent assessment.
The final assessment consists of the sum of points given by all the independent jurors.
Each independent juror will choose 50 photos from all works sent for certain theme and will give points to the chosen photos accordingly to the grading scale as below:

In all themes listed in point 2.2.. there will be 3 photos awarded. These will be photos that get the highest number of points.
After the end of all thematic categories, a Master of Photography will be chosen from all the contestants.
The Master of Photography will be a photographer who will obtain the highest number of points. From each thematic category only one author's photo will be taken into account - the one, which obtained the highest number of points in each edition.
2.6. Declarations
Sending the works is also a declaration, that a person sending a photo is registered in the Submission Form and:
- is the author of the photos enclosed. The rights of portrayed people are cleared and the portrayed people agree to publish them also for advertisement purposes of the contest and they bear all the claims of any kind, that third parties may have towards the Contest Organizers.
- accept the contest regulations
- agrees to processing his/her personal information in accordance with the Bill of Personal Data Protection
- agrees to free usage of the sent photos in any way and any time by the Contest Organizers in the Contest promotion purposes.
2.7. Prizes
In the contest, there will be prizes for best photos in all themes and main prizes, for best photographers, taking into account the entirety of the works submitted by one author, as following:
The best photo:
in landscape category : I place, II place, III place
in people category: I place, II place, III place
in nature category: I place, II place, III place
in architecture category: I place, II place, III place
in sport category: I place, II place, III place
in report category: I place, II place, III place
in special categories: I place, II place III place
The best photographer:
Master of Photography
I Vice-Master of Photography
II Vice-Master of Photography
The organizers reserve the right to give special prizes and additional prizes.
2.8. Jury
The accredited by the Organizers Jurors from Sweden, the Czech Republic, the USA, Belgium, England, Canada and Poland will make the works' assessment.
Each Jurors will give his own, unquestionable verdict.
The juror's verdict is final and unquestionable.
3. Final regulations
3.1. The organizers reserve the right to delete photos and texts that are commonly considered to be offensive, that violate the right of third parties or the Polish law, contain pornographic contents or violate religious feelings. The decision of deleting such photos or texts is final and unquestionable. The contestant, whose work is banned from the contest, has no right to the refund of submission charge.
3.2. The organizers bear no responsibility for : events that prevent the contest to take place, events that were impossible to predict or which were impossible to be prevented, in particular in the occurrence of unforeseen occurrences.
3.3. The organizers reserve the right to change these regulations in the case the change of law regulations or important events which have influence on the contest organization.
3.4. The contest does not come under the bill of 29 July 1992 about games and mutual bettings.
3.5 The above mentioned regulations come into live on the day of the start of the contest and is valid until its finish.
